What is he thinking? Help!!! please!?

ok, so there is this guy that i am talking to and we are close to dating, we got in an arguement and it was my fault and i apologized. he said its ok but still hasnt talked to me. then i texted him yesterday and was like please dont be mad at me and he was like im not mad just thinking about stuff. he is a very keep to himself kinda guy. his best friend says he said that he wants to be with me, but he doesnt know if he is ready for a working relationship, what do you think of this situation? im confused as ever and need all the advice i can get!
