Spell checking with a Mac computer?

I just moved from PC to a Mac. iWorks will spell check my doent but not fix the misspelled word. It underlines it but then nothing!!!! I am a terrible speller...does Mac just not do this help or what. I tried clicking on the red line/word but nothing. Please help.
