Will silcone stick to suede material? Wanting to add rubber/water resistance soles to slipper shoes.?

I'm thinking about 'painting' silicone onto a pair of suede sole bottom slipper shoes so they can be worn anywhere. What are your thoughts on this & any other suggestions are welcome. Thank you in advance!
